Prerequisites:
- A mailbox configured within your Hostingly cPanel account.
- Server settings for your mailbox obtained from cPanel (see below, if you already have these skip to “Setup Steps”).
Getting Server Settings:
- Log in to your cPanel.
- Select “Email Accounts.”
- Click “Connect Devices” for the desired email account.
- Note the username, incoming, and outgoing server settings for later.
Setup Requirements:
- Your domain’s A record must point to your Hostingly hosting server.
- SSL must be enabled for the domain.
Setup Steps:
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- If it’s your first time using Outlook and you don’t have existing email accounts, you might see a prompt to enter your email address. Otherwise, select “File” from the Menu Bar.
- Click “Add Account.”
- Enter the email address you want to add.
- Choose “Advanced options” and select “Let me set up my account manually.”
- Choose between POP and IMAP. We recommend IMAP for synchronized mailbox access. Enter your IMAP settings, including incoming and outgoing server details, port numbers, and select
- SSL/TLS encryption. Click “Next.”
- Ensure the “Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” boxes are NOT checked.
- Enter your mailbox password and click “Connect” to complete the setup.
- Congratulations! Your email account is now added to Outlook. Click “Done” to return to your mailbox.
