How to cancel a hosting account

1 min read

Introduction

Please note that domain renewals are separate from your cPanel hosting and must be cancelled individually if you wish to prevent them from renewing.

Cancelling Hosting vs. Domains:

  • Cancelling your hosting package does not automatically cancel any registered domains.
  • To avoid domain renewals, ensure that auto-renew and auto-invoice settings are disabled. Instructions can be found in our domain renewal management guide.

Cancelling Your cPanel Hosting Service:

  • Log in to your Hostingly Client Area.
  • Click on “Services” to access your cPanel hosting packages.
  • Click the package you want to cancel.
  • In the left pane there will the 5th option down shows “Request Cancellation”, click this.

Complete the required details:

  • Specify the reason for cancelling your hosting.
  • Select the cancellation date, either “immediate” or at the “end of the billing period”.
  • Click “request cancellation” to finalise your request.

Confirmation and Email:

  • Please note that you won’t receive an on-screen confirmation message.
  • An email confirming the cancellation will be sent to you.

Changed Your Mind?

  • If you decide to stay with Hostingly after initiating the cancellation, contact us as soon as possible.
  • Cancellations are processed automatically, and your data (websites and emails) will be deleted when processed.
  • If you selected immediate cancellation, your data will be scheduled for deletion within a few hours.
  • If you change your mind before data deletion, we may be able to halt the cancellation, but once processed, we will restore from the last available backup, potentially resulting in data loss.
