How to restore a full account backup

1 min read

Restoring a full account backup is a straightforward process with JetBackup. Please note that a full account restore will overwrite all components of your hosting account, including files, databases, and mailboxes. Ensure this is the action you want to take before proceeding.

Follow these steps:

  • Log in to your cPanel account.
  • In the Files section, access JetBackup from the dashboard.
  • Click on “Full Backups” in the JetBackup dashboard.
  • Select the desired backup date and time that you wish to revert to, then click “Restore.”
  • Confirm the restore by clicking “Restore Selected Files.”
  • To monitor progress, return to the dashboard and click “Queue.”

You can also generate a download of your full account backup if needed. Simply click “Generate Download,” and once the backup file is ready, click “Download” to save it to your local device. The backup file will have a .tar.gz extension, indicating it’s an archived and compressed file. You’ll need appropriate software to decompress and access the contents if necessary.

Please be aware that restoring a full account backup will replace all existing data on your hosting account. If you need to restore specific elements, such as individual files or databases, refer to the relevant sections in our guides for detailed instructions.
