Introduction

At Hostingly, we prioritise the security and privacy of your data. Setting up a security question and answer is an essential step in this process. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to establish your security question.

Step 1: Initial Purchase or Account Creation

  • When making your initial purchase or creating an account before purchasing our services, we will prompt you to set up a security question and answer.

Step 2: Existing Clients

  • If you are an existing client and haven’t configured your security question, we will guide you through this process when you contact us.

Step 3: Setting Up Your Security Question

  • Begin by logging into your Hostingly account.
  • Click on the profile drop-down menu and select “Security Settings.”
  • Locate the “Set security question” button and click on it.

Step 4: Choose a Security Question

  • From the provided list, choose a security question that you can easily remember.
  • Type your answer to the selected question.
  • Click “Save Security Question” to confirm your choice.

Step 5: Managing Your Security Question

  • You have the flexibility to update or change your security question and answer at any time.
  • To do this, return to the Security Settings page and make the necessary adjustments.

Additional Security Feature: Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  • While setting up your security question is crucial, we highly recommend enhancing your account security further by enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
  • Although not mandatory, 2FA adds an extra layer of protection to your Hostingly account.
  • For detailed instructions on setting up 2FA, please refer to our separate guide on enabling Two-Factor Authentication for your Hostingly Client Area login.
