Managing domains & autorenewal settings

This guide demonstrates how to manage the auto-renewal settings for your domain names within your Hostingly client area. It assumes that you have already logged in successfully.

Auto-renewal can proceed smoothly if your domain’s payment method is a Credit/Debit Card and you have valid card details stored in your account.

If your domains are set to auto-renew, and the payment method is PayPal or Bank Transfer, we will generate an invoice. However, you must either log in to make the PayPal payment or complete the bank transfer to avoid your domain expiring and incurring a redemption charge.

To Manage a Domain:

  • Go to “My Domains” by selecting it from the Domains menu drop-down or clicking the “My Domains” button.
  • Your domains, along with their Auto Renew status, are displayed. Click on a domain name or the “Manage Domain” button to access its settings.
  • Click on the “Auto Renew” tab and then select “Manage auto-renewal settings.”

Auto-Renewal and Auto Invoice Management:

  • Auto-Renewal can be enabled only for domains with a payment method of Credit/Debit Card. Ensure your account has valid card details for auto-renewal to function.
  • Auto Invoice: Disabling auto invoice creation means you will need to manually renew your domain to prevent cancellation.

Canceling a Domain:

Disabling Auto Renew and Auto Invoice will cause the domain to expire at its next renewal, and you won’t be billed further.

If your domain is set for auto-renewal, you will receive an invoice for the renewal at least 7 days before expiration. On the expiration day, we will attempt to process payment using any valid card stored in your account. If successful, you will receive a payment confirmation.

If you do not receive payment confirmation, it means your domain hasn’t been renewed. In such cases, please contact us immediately to resolve payment issues and ensure the normal operation of your domain.
